There are 4 community-based maternity and child hubs right here in Logan. These hubs have been set up to help families in Logan give their children the best start to life. A midwife will support you throughout pregnancy and help you to build strong partnerships with your community and established health services. They will also work with you on things like your birthing plan, antenatal education, breastfeeding support, home visits when needed, pregnancy advice and support, and in- home postnatal care once your baby arrives.
Logan Maternity Hubs
These hubs are an extension of existing services at Logan Hospital and are open to people who do not currently access maternity services, who live in the Logan Council area, and are one of the following:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- Māori and/or Pacific Islander
- culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) or non-English speaking women, including refugees
- young women under the age of 18.
Speak to your doctor (GP) about the hubs because you’ll need a referral from your doctor (GP) to make an appointment. If you do not identify with the above list but still want to be considered for the hubs, please speak to your doctor (GP), because individual cases are considered.
All locations have free on-site parking, are within walking distance of public transport, and have links with other health care and social support services.
